On 7 and 14 January, it was a pleasure to offer my first course related to applied biochemistry for the Program for the Gifted and Talented in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Seventeen outstanding students had completed the course and learnt something about biochemistry, which was not normally covered by their study scheme at school. I hoped they found biochemistry and life science interesting and went further on their way of science study.
