It has been four years since I offered CUSA1013 Great Discoveries in Biomedical Sciences in 2018, I was so delighted to run the course again in 2022 face-to-face! The course was offered for the third time on 27 August 2022 (Saturday) from 9:30 am to 1 pm, together with 56 outstanding Secondary 1 to 3 students.
There were also some major changes in the syllabus too: I would like to emphasize on a holistic overview of the development of life sciences, such as the general understanding of prehistoric life forms, followed by the evolution of human beings. Finally, some milestones of the industrial revolution associated to the highlights of modern biomedical sciences were briefly covered. In my humble opinion, this syllabus was currently unavailable at school; I genuinely believed the revised syllabus could build up some relevant foundations among my students for their further study in biomedical sciences in the future.
